The table lamp by Michael Bang for Holmegaard from the 1970s is an outstanding example of late Scandinavian modernism – functional, artistic and at the same time sensual in expression.

The deep black glass body with its flowing white and blue marbling evokes images of moving water or Nordic cloudscapes. The elegant brass neck adds a warm touch to the cool glass design and underscores the piece's high-quality character.

Michael Bang, one of Holmegaard's most important designers, combined artisanal perfection with poetic restraint in his designs. And this object, too, bears his unmistakable signature.
